Celebrations

A snapshot of a deal from Scoopon. It was originally bought for my birthday but since booking was full on that day, this deal was delayed until yesterday - to celebrate the end of honours presentation. *PS:There is always a reason for celebration, not that I did particularly well...*

Back back back to my birthday, even though I couldn't use the coupon, I ended up going to Mapo, a Korean owned restaurant that serves a fusion of Korean and Western food, and the meal was really, really good. (I was really obsessed with Korean at that time after watching City Hunter). I ordered twice cooked pan seared & oven baked atlantic salmon with carrot puree, served on a bed of Italian & Korean infused green salad & potato croquette (copied directly from menu). The sauce or puree or whatever it is called was uniquely yummy. Here it is:

Salmon.

Accompanied by a bottle of soju... Maybe it would go better with a glass of wine...

Something worth a little mention - handmade mandoo on Bank Street. Korean again. But again, they were delicious.

The night before, a tasting platter from Eggless, just two days before it was closed for a long holiday. Couldn't remember the exact names but this is how we were supposed to eat it, clockwise starting from citrus cheesecake, panna cotta, baileys tiramisu and finally the jelly.

And the desserts were accompanied by a cup of chai chocolate. Personally prefer chai chocolate over chai latte, probably because I LOVE chocolate!

Back to last night's so called celebration, $39 for anything from the menu to the value of $65 and a bottle of wine or four beers for two. There were six of us; we orderd 6 mains, 6 entrees, one white, one red and four beers. By the end of the day, all of us were very full. Funny thing was, we ordered mains before entrees. The food was not bad. Pastas were nicely cooked, prawns were fresh, chicken was juicy, wedges were crunchy and nachos were pretty good too. I don't have all the pictures, but this is my main.

Garlic prawns.

Drunk?

That's all for today
:):):)

PS: Pardon me for the quality of the pictures. iPhone 5 is not here yet... xD
